The New York Tech Meetup & MOUSE Announce the First Annual NYTM Startup Summer High School Internship Program Sponsored by AT&T
Program pairs Ten of the City's most gifted public high school students with Ten of New York's most innovative technology companies; Students to be introduced tonight live at NYTM event.
NEW YORK, May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- New York Tech Meetup, the monthly nexus for emerging Silicon Alley talent, in partnership with MOUSE, a nonprofit organization providing technology-based programs that engage, empower, and inspire students from underserved communities, will announce tonight a new summer internship program that gives gifted New York public high school students the opportunity to spend the summer working and learning at New York's most innovative technology companies. The program will be kicked off live on-stage at the NYTM tonight with an announcement by participating MOUSE students. The summer program is sponsored by AT&T.
Ten students currently enrolled in New York City schools have been selected and will be introduced tonight at NYTM's monthly event at FIT's Haft Auditorium at 7pm. NYTM members will be able to submit their companies as potential matches for these qualified young interns. AT&T's sponsorship helps cover NYTM's costs of developing and managing the program.

"Part of our mission is to develop 'home grown' technology talent from the students here in New York City. MOUSE is the obvious partner for this effort, since it has been devoted to raising the bar for technology education in area schools, and AT&T's generous support makes it possible for startup and leading tech companies to give students this great opportunity."

The NYTM Startup Summer will kick off in early July and run for six weeks throughout the summer. While exact details will depend on the company placement, students will engage in a wide variety of technical projects, including web design and development. They will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated technology mentor and gain hands-on experience within an exciting and innovative technology company.
