MOUSE 5th Annual Educators Conference
On April 30th, MOUSE held its Fifth Annual Educators Conference located at the Time Inc. Conference Center.
Over 70 MOUSE Squad coordinators from New York City, Chicago and California and other members of the education technology community came together to attend a full day of workshops, community building and celebration.
The keynote address was given by Doug Rushkoff, an acclaimed author, documentarian and winner of the first Neil Postman award for Career Achievement in Public Intellectual Activity. Mr. Rushkoff discussed technology as a landscape upon which America's youth are discovering a self-identity through a new means of communication.
In partnership with Vision Education & Media, the LAMP, Global Kids, Geek Squad and DonorsChoose, educators participated in a diverse range of workshops, including "Civic Engagement through Game Design," "Garage Robotics" and "Participatory Media and Technology."
